Cutting rebar, angle iron, and conduit with a grinder works — it's just slow, it eats discs, and it leaves a ragged edge you have to clean up before anything fits together. A dedicated metal cut-off saw fixes all three problems. You set the angle once, clamp the material, and pull the trigger. Clean cut. Done. Move on.

The VEVOR 14" Cut-Off Saw runs a 2800W motor at 1200 RPM with a 14-inch (355mm) cold-cut blade. That's not an abrasive grinding wheel — it's a ceramic alloy steel blade that cuts cool and leaves a flat, burr-minimal edge you can actually use. The soft-start motor ramps up without a jerk, which matters when you're holding the handle and the blade is 14 inches across.

What's in it:

  • 2800W motor, AC 120V / 60Hz
  • No-load speed: 1200 RPM
  • 14" / 355mm cold-cut ceramic alloy blade (included)
  • Arbor: 25.4mm upper / 30mm lower
  • Miter range: 0–45° tool-less adjustable fence
  • Max cutting capacity at 45°: 100mm (≈4")
  • Fully enclosed spark guard that drops automatically when you lift the arm
  • Reinforced heavy-duty base for stability under load
  • Model: J1G-ZB-355G-3
  • Net weight: 51 lbs / 23.2 kg
  • Machine dimensions: 18.6" × 12.6" × 28.5" (L × W × H)
  • Includes: saw, 2 wrenches, carbon brush set, manual

Good for: rebar, mild steel flat bar, angle iron, square tubing, EMT conduit, aluminum extrusions, structural steel sections. If you're cutting the same material over and over on a job site or in a shop, this is what speeds that up.

Not for: wood or wood-composite materials (this is a metal saw — wrong blade, wrong speed), stainless steel or hardened steel (the ceramic alloy blade isn't rated for either), precision finish cuts where a few thousandths matter (use a cold saw with HSS blade for that), or anything that needs a portable handheld tool.

At $318.90, this is a purpose-built shop tool, not a weekend experiment. If you're cutting metal more than occasionally and you're still reaching for an angle grinder, this is the upgrade that actually pays back in time and disc cost. Buy it once, put it on the bench, stop thinking about it.
