Drilling holes in structural steel with a twist bit and a drill press is slow, overheats bits, and doesn't work on assembled structures you can't move. A magnetic drill solves all three problems: it mounts directly to the workpiece, cuts a clean full-diameter hole in one pass with an annular cutter, and doesn't need a separate fixture. Fabricators use them for beam connections, pipe flanges, gusset plates, and anything bolted together in the field.
The VEVOR 1550W Magnetic Drill presses 13,000N (2,922 lbf) of holding force through an electromagnet base, runs a 1550W copper-wound motor at up to 500 RPM through 10 adjustable speed stages, and comes with 11 HSS annular cutters covering 12–27mm. Weldon 3/4" shank. Works upright, horizontal, or inverted on steel plate 10mm or thicker.
