Vinyl records hold onto gunk in the grooves that a carbon fiber brush doesn't reach. Dust, mold release compound from pressing, fingerprint oils — they sit in the groove floor and degrade playback and stylus life. A wet vacuum record cleaner helps. An ultrasonic cleaner gets everything a wet vac misses, because it drives cavitation bubbles into the groove geometry at 40,000 times per second, not just across the surface.
The VEVOR 6L Ultrasonic Vinyl Record Cleaner is built specifically for records — not a generic jewelry tank with a record rack crammed in. The 6062 aluminum rotation rack holds 4 LPs at once, spins them at 7 rpm through the cleaning bath, and the 40kHz ultrasound does the rest. 304 stainless steel tank, knob-controlled heat and timer.
What's in the unit:
- Tank capacity: 6L (1.59 gal)
- Simultaneous cleaning: 4 vinyl records (LPs/12")
- Rotation speed: 7 × 360°/min (motor-driven)
- Rack material: 6062 aluminum
- Ultrasonic power: 180W at 40kHz
- Heating power: 300W — adjustable 68–176°F (20–80°C)
- Note: Keep temp at or below 113°F (45°C) for vinyl — higher temps risk warping
- Timer: 0–30 minutes, mechanical knob
- Tank dimensions: 12.8 × 6.93 × 5.91 in (32.5 × 17.6 × 15 cm)
- Exterior dimensions: 13 × 7.1 × 11.22 in (33 × 18 × 28.5 cm)
- Tank material: 304 stainless steel
- Voltage: 110V / 60Hz
- Includes: cleaning basket (ball-shaped), records washing rack
Good for:
- LPs with pops and ticks that a dry or wet brush hasn't fixed
- Thrift store and estate sale finds with decades of contamination in the grooves
- Batch cleaning — 4 records per cycle, not one at a time
- Audiophiles who want a clean baseline before first play on a good stylus
Not for:
- 45s and 7" singles — the rack is sized for 12" LPs
- Shellac 78s — the tank temp needs to stay low; shellac and heat don't mix
- Replacing a record cleaning fluid — you still need the right solution in the tank, water alone won't do it
4-record capacity, 40kHz, 180W ultrasonic with a purpose-built LP rack. $130.71. The spin-clean and manual wet scrub both work — this works faster and gets deeper.
